Monday 16th May - Sunday 22nd May Deadline Week - Crunch Time. On Friday (Deadline was 4pm) at 10am, my assignment extension was approved, moving the deadline to Tuesday 24th at 4pm. This week was the last week of Post-Production, it was very much crunch time. Tuesday I had the editing suite booked and went there with Corbyn and a friend of ours to work on the edit however not much came to fruition during this, trying to assemble scenes 9 to 16 on a small laptop with no mouse was a struggle. So I headed back home to utilise my computer and prep the timeline with scenes 9 to 16 assembled in preparation for Wednesday when myself and Poppy met up. On Wednesday we quickly went through the 1st timeline (1-8) to make sure she was happy with everything, there were a few notes but we decided that it was ready to be colour corrected/graded. This is the resulting structure of the timeline after the assembly had been completed. I had colour coded the audio for Corbyn as a way to reference wh...

Monday 9th May - Sunday 15th May Post-Production Week Two, Troubles Arise. As I moved into the second week of Post-Production, I have realised I heavily underestimated how long it would actually take to organise all the footage. The constant obstacles that I have faced, having to listen closely to what scene/shot/take each clip was and try figure out for the ones that either didn't have any indication of it's scene/shot/take or had the same scene/shot/take as another clip took a lot of my time up. However, thankfully I had finished organising the footage this week and was able to begin assembling the timeline. I decided that I would split the timeline into two: 1st timeline: Scenes 1 to 8, 2nd timeline: Scenes 9 to 16. Now the reason for this is I felt it would be more efficient if I got Scenes 1 to 8 assembled then as I began work on Scenes 9 to 16, Corbyn could begin sound design on the first timeline and then once he had finished that we would swap and I could begin colour ...

Monday 2nd May - Sunday 8th May Post-Production Begins! Last week we called a wrap on the production which now means the start of Post-Production, the stage of making a film that is mainly my job. For Post-Production I will first organise all the footage by renaming them by scene-shot-take (1-5-3), moving them into the correct scene folder, and then documenting it. By doing this, it will help me later on in the edit when I need to begin assembling everything. This stage (organisation) should have begun on Day 1 of Production to save time as we progress through Post-Production.   misc folder was for footage that had no indication of what scene/shot/take it was or it had the same scene/shot/take as another clip. On Wednesday I travelled from Lincoln to Norwich to see my family for the week and took my laptop and hard drive with me so I can continue to organise all the files. This took longer than expected because not having access to a mouse and only having a singular screen sl...

Monday 4th April - Sunday 10th April  Second Week of Production! This week hasn't been very productive for me. Obviously each day of filming I do data wrangling.  I did however on Thursday begin to look at how I should approach the tone of the film. To my understanding, our main character, Colt, is unable to differentiate between real life and fantasy and often hallucinates so my thinking is to sort of have that dreaming/memory effect added to the scene when he's hallucinating. In the final Harry Potter, they utilise greens and blues to depict a bad time, sadness and grief. This is something I could look at adding in the colour grading process because our main character when in proximity to his home, is sad because of his bad upbringing. However, as mentioned previously I could use whites and greys to depict a sort of dreamscape for our main character and I'll look into adding a feathered white glow around our character.

Monday 28th March  - Sunday 3rd April Production begins! With Pre-Production coming to a close, we started Production this week. For our first day of Production we went to Hartsholme Country Park to begin shooting footage for scenes 3, 10, 11, and 12.  For the shoots I attended, I primarily took pictures for social media and behind the scenes. As you can see above I took some pictures of the crew as they worked. While Day 1 wasn't successful, it provided us with an understanding of how the landscape looked and how we should tackle the production going into Day 2. Day 2 started off a bit rocky. I left the house roughly 10 minutes prior to the time we were meant to be getting picked up to get myself food for lunch as we lived very close to a Tesco Express, as I left the house, Poppy and Ella arrived and I told them that I was heading towards the Tesco just to get lunch and it'll take me less than 10 minutes. They weren't happy, and two minutes after the set time of departu...

I have created several different posters and logos for our film, I put a lot of research and time into colours that compliment each other and looked into colour theory. Colour Theory is a "body of practical guidance to color mixing and the visual effects of a specific color combination" -  https://www.colormatters.com/color-and-design/basic-color-theory For more information These were several of the posters/logos I created for our film but each one was shot down by Poppy and Ella because it wasn't fantasy enough, I was under the impression that our film was horror however they informed me I was incorrect so... Ella and Poppy came up with some designs which honestly looked like they were created in MS Paint. Each of these logos looked bad, there doesn't seem to be any creative thought or research and I tried giving them feedback and explaining how complimentary colours work with examples as shown below. Some examples were from Corbyn and some were from me. But even wi...
